Sites are dirt and pea gravel so expect mud if it rains. We thought is was over priced as most KOAs are, but this park is close to the fair grounds for the Balloon Fiesta. Propane was $2.53/gallon so we didn't buy any here.

We would have given this campground a ten, but you had to drive a half a mile or so to take your garbage to their trash compactor. There are no local trash cans and they don't pick up. We had a great view out our front window of the river, but had to plug into the outlets next to us because their sites are designed to back-in instead of drive in forward. The staff were very nice about letting us do this because it was only for one night and there were no other campers in our section (312-315).

We stayed here three nights and remember it being a lot better last year. The creek flooded its banks and made the pet walk area very muddy but did not effect our camp site. There was loud music Saturday night in our area until at least 11pm, which helped cover up the trains blowing their horns. I have to agree with other posts about the staff not being helpful/friendly. We had to ask where our camp site was and how to get to it. It appeared that the lonely male staff member checking in campers really didn't want to be there working. We will probably look for another campground next time we are in San Antonio.

Great park for big rigs at a very reasonable price. This park allows you to wash your rig at no additional cost. If you have pets let them know so they can assign you a site close to the grassy area or you'll be walking. We had strong West Texas winds from the South.

Sites here are level and asphalt with an electrical supply that drops quickly from 130vac down to 107vac or lower with a draw of 30 amps. No shade trees for satellite users. The staff forgot to turn off the hard rock outdoor speakers at the pool so we thought we just had noisy neighbors, until 9:30 the next morning when we asked the staff member why the outdoor speakers were playing but the pool was closed. They need a shut down checklist. The laundry/bath house was clean and had the capability for air-conditioning but we found no thermostat to try to turn it on and cool it down. KOA has made little, to no improvement in what used to the Sunshine RV Park: but the rates have gone from $25-30 up to $45 or higher for holiday weekends. We were here on a special: buy one night get a night free that was arranged by a KOA agent, but the Sunshine RV Park staff members are still trying to get up to speed on the KOA system. We had hoped to purchase propane here but it was not operational. If we stay here again, it will not be by the pool.

Multiple sites had issues with stripped threads at the hose bib connection, but the maintenance staff were very responsive to provide a temporary plastic adapter. All sites are gravel but the ground was saturated from recent rains causing a muddy experience even with the grass. Cable was excellent but cell phone coverage down the hill in the campground was extreme fringe to no coverage. The laundry was clean but on the expensive side for both washers and dryers. We used this campground as a base for 7 days to explore Bar Harbor, Acadia NP, and take a lighthouse cruise tour.

We camped two nights at this quite and clean well situated campground that has level concrete sites. Although the campground is wooded it is not shaded so satellite users will have no reception issues and the wide sites easily handled our four slideouts. Each site’s sewer connection is closer to the rear of the site but we prefer that in order to have the additional space to park are tow car in front near the front door of the RV. This park does not have a dump station because every site has full hookups. The bathrooms and showers were spotless. The campground manager is friendly and helpful. We will definitely return here.

I was leery about making reservations here until I read the reviews of this campground on this site. We stayed here one night to see Niagara Falls. This campground truly is a hidden treasure for those wanting to visit the falls. Sites are asphalt and large enough for pull-throughs with a tow. No cable but shade trees allow satellite reception. Local HD reception is good.

We pulled into this very clean campground without reservations and had plenty of full hook-up gravel sites to pick from. Even though it is self registration, there was a friendly campground host to help us select a site. We stayed here one night to tour the covered bridges of Madison County. All sites are back in.

Tree limbs on pull through grass sites make it tight for rigs with slide outs. We had to pull forward into an empty site in the next row where we were finally able to extend all four slides but they still touched the tree limbs. This campground was heavily populated with campers in tents while the pull throughs were almost empty. An inexperienced lone staffer at our check-in made the process excessively long waiting for her backup to arrive to issue a credit for an overcharge.

The driveway entrance from Blue Rock Road is steep uphill and several drag marks are visible. Payment at registration is cash only, no credit/debit cards, no checks. Sites near the water front are for seasonal tenants only, but there is a boat ramp for all. No cable in this “5 star resort”. Local HD channel reception is good as is satellite if you request a site without tree coverage.

We stayed three nights at this clean and quiet family owned park just off I-35 for genealogy research in the Homewood and Williamsburg area. We could not hear freeway traffic over the hill. The 50 amp pull through gravel sites are level and long enough to include your tow car without having to disconnect it. The bathrooms and showers are spotless and there is one washer and dryer in the office area, which is usually open later in the afternoon until about 8 pm. We stayed here two years ago and plan to return in the near future.

A very poorly designed KOA campground. The dump station at the entrance can only be accessed if you are driving into the campground but not driving out. This campground is suitable for tents and popup campers but not Class A motorhomes 40 feet or longer. Turns are too sharp for big rigs especially if cars and other vehicles are parked close to the road. There is no drainage so the park roads and sites were full of mud puddles. Cost for electric and water only was $35 per night without a membership discount. While the staff was helpful and friendly, this is the first campground in 22 years of RVing that we won’t return to.

This park is close to the I-55 and I-40 interchange, which has been a plus for us after one day of travel. The park has lots of shade trees so if you have a satellite dish on top you may have to request a site not so heavily shaded. This has always been a good one night stay for us and everyone is friendly.

While the trees in this campground are well trimmed, the trees on the connecting road (Thurston St.) are not. So be prepared to be scratched if there’s any on-coming traffic. This is the best staffed campground we’ve ever seen, including “park rangers” to lead first timers to their site. We used our Good Sam card and a First Timer’s coupon from their web site (look under Rates then Promotions) for discounts. We were told at check-in that they no longer pick up your daily trash bag, so it may be a long walk to one of only three dumpers in this very large campground.

The day we arrived we saw trash bags falling from the overflowing dumpers and no one in the registration office was aware there was an issue. Once we notified the office, the dumpers were emptied that same day. Four dumpers near the dump station were inaccessible due to a large wet muddy road that crossed in front of them that should have been paved. The dump station design was from the 1920s and not maintained or cleaned. Just point your dump hose toward the horizontal grate and hope it all goes down. The bath houses looked so unkempt from the outside with weathered paint that we chose not to go inside. Other than a trooper that drives through once a night, we saw little effort to maintain this wonderful river front and ocean front campground. In addition to the daily camping fee, there is also a one time transaction fee of $9.25. They give away their few 50 sites to campers in tents and/or small trailers that don't need 50 amp service.

Situated adjacent to their parent amusement park, Dutch Wonderland, this campground has mostly gravel sites that are tight back-in or drive-in, and there are only a couple that are pull-through. Sites on the west side of the park are adjacent to the amusement park’s noisy roller coaster complete with screams from the riders; while sites on the north side border the stream but are for tents only. The staff is friendly and generous with their on-site mechanic and shop for minor customer issues. We used this campground for seven days as a base for traveling to other activities (Hershey, Gettysburg, etc.) in the local area.

From this park it’s less than a half hour drive to the United Flight 93 National Memorial crash site. The sites are all gravel, level and spacious. There are too many activities at this park to list them all here but they include putt-putt golf and fishing. There are no discounts for any club memberships but no extra charge for pets. The only thing this park might improve would be reducing the size of their large car pass (5”x7”) that hangs on the mirror, which also doubles as a comment card on the back.

Sites are gravel but level, clean, and spacious. For the price, it's the best RV park in the area. This was our first visit to this park, and we plan to return and make our reservations well in advance just to make sure we get a site.

We stayed here two nights to take a full day to explore Shenandoah National Park (NP). We were given directions to our site through a narrow area with low hanging branches and had to find a way to back up and turn around in a very tight area. Although we paid for 50 amp service, their installed circuit breakers would only provide 35 amps (measured) before tripping. Office personnel were not sensitive to our concerns so the breakers weren’t changed until late the second day after additional complaints. The back-in sites are tight with cars/trucks parked on both sides of the road. There is an extra charge for pets per day with no designated pet walking areas. We don’t plan to stay here again.

This is a heavily wooded campground but well trimmed for big rig access. The roads and sites are dirt with a minimum number of 50 amp sites. Some areas of the interior roads were washed out from recent rains. The campground was somewhat crowded over the weekend at full occupancy but thinned out nicely during the week. The staff is friendly but you may have to ask for a print out of the cable channels when you check in. The restrooms and showers were spotless.
